Comprehensive Branding & Marketing Materials Design
for Bulhalho Foundation

Proposal ID: BUF2025-001

Prepared for: Bulhalho Foundation & Iles de Paix Uganda

Date of Issue: 6 November 2025

Valid Until: 20 November 2025

Prepared by: Sadja WebSolutions Ltd

Introduction

On behalf of Sadja WebSolutions, we thank you for this opportunity to partner with Bulhalho Foundation and Iles de Paix in enhancing the market visibility and brand positioning of one of Uganda's most impactful youth-led beekeeping enterprises in the Rwenzori region.

We have thoroughly reviewed your Terms of Reference dated 24 October 2025 and studied Bulhalho Foundation's current operations, including your recently established two honey selling and collection centres. We understand that you are at a pivotal moment in your organizational growth, having recently obtained UNBS certification, which creates the perfect opportunity to professionalize your brand identity and marketing materials.

With our extensive experience in branding for agro-based enterprises across East Africa and our understanding of Uganda's honey sector dynamics, we are strategically positioned to deliver a brand concept that authentically reflects Bulhalho Foundation's youth-led identity, environmental values, and market ambitions.

Our Understanding of Your Mission

Bulhalho Foundation is a youth-led organization transforming the beekeeping sector in the Rwenzori region through sustainable livelihood creation and market access improvement. Your brand identity must effectively communicate several key aspects to resonate with customers, partners, and beneficiaries:

🌱 Youth Empowerment

A youth-led organization creating sustainable livelihoods through beekeeping training and market linkages

🐝 Quality & Certification

UNBS-certified pure honey products meeting national quality standards and consumer safety requirements

🌍 Environmental Impact

Promoting biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability through responsible beekeeping practices

🀝 Community Development

Supporting local youth beekeepers with collection centres and value addition infrastructure in the Rwenzori region

Why Local Expertise Matters

Many design firms can create attractive logos, but few truly understand Uganda's honey sector, UNBS labeling requirements, and the unique positioning needs of youth-led agricultural enterprises.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬ Kampala Office: Plot 3 Bata Close, Industrial Area, Kampala. Available for in-person coordination meetings with Iles de Paix and can travel to Fort Portal when necessary for stakeholder consultations.

🍯 Sector Experience: Successfully branded over 15 agro-based enterprises including honey cooperatives, coffee exporters, fruit processors, and agricultural value-addition projects across Uganda.

πŸ“¦ Print Production Network: Established relationships with UNBS-compliant label printers and signage fabricators in both Kampala and Western Uganda, ensuring quality reproduction of your brand materials.

βœ… NGO & Donor Visibility: Deep understanding of donor visibility requirements, youth enterprise branding needs, and partnership logo integration for organizations like Iles de Paix and ENABEL.

Scope of Work - Detailed Breakdown

Task 1: Review of Current Materials

We will conduct a comprehensive audit of your existing brand assets:

  • Analysis of current logo design, visual elements, and brand messaging
  • Review of existing product labels from early operations
  • Assessment of current packaging materials and their market effectiveness
  • Evaluation of brand consistency across different touchpoints
  • Competitive analysis of honey brands in Uganda and the Rwenzori region
  • Market positioning assessment for youth-led honey enterprises

Task 2: New Logo & Brand Concept Development

We will create a refreshed brand identity that captures the essence of Bulhalho Foundation:

  • Logo Design Process: Initial presentation of 3 distinct logo concepts with different creative directions. Each concept will be accompanied by a rationale explaining the design thinking. Unlimited revisions on your chosen concept until complete satisfaction.
  • Color Palette Development: Primary and secondary color schemes that reflect honey authenticity, natural environment, youth energy, and professional credibility. Colors will be specified in CMYK for print, RGB for digital, and Pantone for brand consistency.
  • Typography Selection: Primary and secondary fonts that are legible, modern, professional, and available for both print and digital applications. Font licensing will be considered to ensure legal usage.
  • Brand Elements: Supporting visual elements such as honeycomb patterns, bee illustrations, Rwenzori mountain motifs, and natural textures that can be used across various materials.
  • Brand Values Reflection: The design will authentically communicate youth leadership, environmental responsibility, quality production, and community impact.

Task 3: Design of Marketing Materials

Product Labels (UNBS Compliant)

We will design product labels for different honey jar sizes, ensuring full compliance with UNBS requirements:

  • 500ml Honey Jar Label: Full wrap-around or front-back label design
  • 1kg Honey Jar Label: Scaled appropriately for larger jar size
  • 250ml Honey Jar Label: Compact design maintaining brand consistency

Each label design will include all mandatory elements:

  • Bulhalho Foundation logo and brand identity
  • Product name in English (and Runyoro/Rutooro if desired)
  • UNBS certification mark with registration number
  • Ingredients list and nutritional information
  • Net weight specification in grams and milliliters
  • Batch number and production date placement areas
  • Expiry date or best before date placement
  • Manufacturer information and contact details
  • Barcode placement area with proper sizing
  • Storage instructions and usage recommendations

Signpost Designs

  • Directional Signposts: 2-3 design options for guiding customers from main roads to your collection centres. Designs will include arrows, distance indicators, and clear branding.
  • Entrance Signpost: Large format entrance branding for the main gates or building fronts of your two collection centres. Design will establish a strong visual presence.
  • Material Considerations: Designs optimized for both metal fabrication (more durable, weather-resistant) and wooden construction (traditional, eco-friendly). Specifications provided for both options.
  • Size Recommendations: Optimal dimensions for visibility from various distances and vehicle speeds.

Promotional Materials

  • Teardrop Banners (2 Designs): One design focused on product promotion (highlighting honey quality and UNBS certification), and another design focused on organizational mission (youth empowerment and environmental impact). Standard size: 2.5m or 3m height.
  • Roll-up Banner (1 Design): Comprehensive design suitable for exhibitions, trade fairs, and promotional events. Size: 85cm x 200cm (standard roll-up size).
  • A4 Flyers: Double-sided flyer design template for product information distribution.
  • Business Cards: Professional business card design for Bulhalho Foundation representatives.

Task 4: Brand Rationale Document

While you have specified that a full corporate identity manual is not required, we will provide a comprehensive written rationale document that includes:

  • Design Philosophy: Explanation of the overall brand concept and creative direction
  • Logo Rationale: Detailed breakdown of the logo design including symbolism, shapes, and visual meaning
  • Color Psychology: Explanation of color choices and their psychological impact on consumers and partners
  • Typography Decisions: Rationale for font selection and how it supports brand personality
  • Visual Elements: Explanation of supporting graphics and their connection to Bulhalho Foundation's mission
  • Market Positioning: How the brand differentiates Bulhalho Foundation in the honey market
  • Basic Usage Guidelines: Essential dos and don'ts for maintaining brand consistency
  • Quick Reference Sheet: One-page summary for quick reference during future print projects

Task 5: Final File Delivery

All final deliverables will be provided in multiple file formats:
